I am an ISV Architect Evangelist for Microsoft, which means I help other software companies succeed building on top of the Microsoft platform. That way, when they sell their software, they’re also selling our software.
This is my own site, and the opinions expressed here are my own. My opinions should not be taken to represent the official positions of Microsoft, especially of any product group. That said, I love Microsoft technology, and it is in fact my job to tell the world about how to leverage it successfully. I will do my best to present all facts on this site accurately and to express my opinions respectfully.
This site has an odd mix of personal and professional stuff in it. These days I tend to keep the personal stuff to myself or post it on facebook. On random occasions, I write poetry and post it here.
I live on the Northeast side of Grand Rapids, Michigan with my beautiful wife, Paula, and our totally awesome son, Gus. I grew up on the Northwest side, in the house where my parents still live. My brother and his family live here as well; my sister lives in upstate New York.
Most people – including me – thought I would be a violinist when I grew up, but things changed. Music is still important to me, but I don’t get to play as much as I’d like. Lately, I’ve been playing with Amy Young, which has been a joy.
I’m easy to reach. If you have a reaction to something I said on this blog, register and leave a comment. If you just want to say hi, follow me on twitter at @patrickfoley and @tweet me. If you are an old friend, connect on facebook (my definition of facebook friend is simple – if I’m pretty sure you won’t break into my house when I post that I’m away on vacation, then I’ll accept your friend request). If you are someone who would like to stay professionally connected with me for some reason, connect on linked in (if I might not know you, please tell me how you heard about me or tell me why you want to connect). You can also just email me at Patrick.Foley@microsoft.com at any time for any reason.
Cheers!
