I’m back!

Thursday, February 23rd, 2006

A lot has been going on in the last few months. I just completed an exciting, international project for a large New York bank. I’m just starting a working relationship with an extremely cool consulting firm in Grand Rapids. I’ve been dealing with some enriching changes at home, and I’ve even started practicing violin again. Example of software specification

Thursday, August 18th, 2005

Joel Spolsky has been kind enough to put an example of a real live software spec from a real live - and completed - project on his site. What a boon for developers who care about this sort of thing.

RSS links fixed

Sunday, April 3rd, 2005

I also changed some wording from the default WordPress template - instead of “No Comments” for posts on the front page, I changed it to “Leave a Comment”. That makes it a bit more obvious that it’s a link. […]

First class UI constructs

Thursday, March 24th, 2005

So what’s a “first class user interface construct”? I’ll show you a perfect example in Google’s new gmail.

First some background. I’ve tried many, many webmail systems, and I actively use at least six for various purposes (Yahoo, MSN, gmail, fastmail, Outlook Web Access (OWA), and the free Linux ones). They all have their strengths […]
